Spælsau Roving
$5.00
One of the most primitive domestic sheep still present in Europe, native to Norway. The use of Spælsau wool dates at least as far back as the Viking age (from 800 to 1066 AD), where it was woven into the dense wadmal fabric that was then made into sails.
Although the wool is dual-coated, it has a soft handle and produces a wonderfully textured yarn.
Sold by the ounce.
